The Seafarer’s Medical Certificate is an internationally recognized medical fitness certificate for anyone working in the maritime industry. It is a health certificate to ensure that you are physically fit to perform your duties at sea. Without this you cannot apply for or work on any vessel.
This is done by an approved medical practitioner and cannot be done by a General Practitioner. Your certificate will be valid for two years and then will need to be redone.
You have a choice between a SAMSA Medical or an ENG1 – we offer the SAMSA medical from a approved doctor right here in Hermanus.
